What Are QuicKlear Brackets?

A graduate of the University of Detroit School of Dentistry, William Fay, DDS, has served as owner and practitioner at his eponymous orthodontic practice in San Francisco, California, for more than three decades. Dedicated to providing his patients with the latest dental treatments, William Fay, DDS, offers products such as QuicKlear brackets.

Created by Forestadent, QuicKlear self-litigating brackets offer enhanced patient comfort while providing a more aesthetically pleasing alternative to traditional braces. Formed from a translucent ceramic material, the brackets blend in with the color of the patient’s teeth and feature a dull metal locking clip for less recognizable orthodontic treatment. Moreover, QuicKlear brackets have rounded slot edges that create less friction and discomfort in the patient’s mouth.

The brackets also feature a unique locking system that creates easier treatment options and faster office visits. For example, orthodontists can easily open QuicKlear brackets via the gingival and vestibular elements, and can close them using only slight pressure from a finger. At the conclusion of treatment, the brackets are easy to remove and offer a low risk of fracturing the patient’s enamel. Using Forestadent’s Pauls debonding tool, the orthodontist detaches the bracket from the adhesive before gently removing it from the tooth.

Minimally Invasive Body Augmentation (MIBA) Products

Over the course of more than three decades, William Fay, DDS, has cultivated success as an orthodontist and business growth advisor in San Francisco, California. Also an experienced entrepreneur, William Fay, DDS, co-founded medical device company Minimally Invasive Body Augmentation (MIBA).

Utilizing its patent-pending Adaptive Volume Restoration (AVR) technology, MIBA offers a line of natural body enhancement products that eliminate the need for invasive surgery and painful scarring. The AVR process links hyaluronic acids that combat the disintegrating effects of hydrolysis, providing patients with reasonably priced products that both feel natural and last longer than other injections and artificial implants.

MIBA’s Restor product is an injectable filler used to augment lips and treat facial wrinkles such as marionette and lip lines. Restor syringes are specially designed with flanges for easier injection, offering physicians more control during treatment.

In addition, MIBA offers Curvature, an augmentation product that helps patients enhance natural soft tissue features such as breasts and calves. The product is also used to treat defects that may form in a patient’s soft tissue after receiving breast cancer procedures or liposuction. A safe and convenient alternative to other augmentative procedures, Curvature is completely reversible with the use of an enzyme injection.

Contouring the Body with Curvature

A highly experienced orthodontist, William Fay, DDS, helps correct tooth and jaw-related problems at his private practice. Additionally, William Fay, DDS, co-founded MIBI, a company that provides products designed to help people achieve the physical look they desire. One of these products is Curvature.

Curvature’s many benefits include helping people get a curvier look. During treatment, a professional injects the product into the body in the areas the individual wants to enhance. It may serve as an alternative to breast implants, for instance. Additionally, people can use Curvature to get a look similar to that provided by gluteal implants but without the level of risk of complications that typically accompanies that type of surgical procedure.

Another advantage of Curvature is its precision and ability to be adapted to different people’s unique situations. For example, people can use Curvature to even out different-sized breasts or to correct defects caused by certain types of surgeries. For example, women attempting to reconstruct the original appearance of the breasts after cancer treatments can benefit from the product. Additionally, it requires minimal downtime, unlike surgery. People can receive Curvature treatments in an office and return to their regular activities much more quickly than from a more evasive procedure. Finally, since the procedure can be reversed, people may feel greater peace of mind by choosing Curvature.

Food and Hygiene Tips for Patients with Braces

An orthodontist for over two decades, William Fay, DDS, maintains two private practices in the Bay Area. With a focus on cosmetic orthodontics and self-ligating braces, William Fay, DDS, works with patients to discreetly correct alignment problems and achieve beautiful and aesthetic results. Hi is also a cofounder of medical aesthetic company MIBA Medical, Inc.

Self-ligating braces can correct a wide range of alignment issues without the use of elastic bands, but as with all dental equipment, they still require care to avoid tooth decay. It is common knowledge that a healthy diet consists of plenty of fruits and natural grains, but there are a few caveats for people with braces to consider.

Although citrus are great source of vitamins and natural sugars, research shows that lemon juice and grapefruit juice are both highly acidic and can erode tooth enamel. Orange juice ranked the least acidic in the study, but experts still recommend brushing and flossing after each serving. Red and white wines are also slightly acidic and have the added side effect of drying out the mouth and possibly staining teeth.

For grains, avoid firm breads such as bagels or pizza crust, which can dislodge brackets with enough force. Chewing gum can help remove food deposits from hard-to-reach areas, but it will be a bigger liability if it becomes lodged in between brackets and corrective wiring. To avoid this, sugar-free gum fortified with xylitol, which is less sticky and can remove food particles while preventing cavities, can be a good option for individual with braces.

Always discuss any concerns with your dental care provider.

MIBA Medical’s Curvature – Patent-pending Soft Tissue Contouring

William Fay, DDS, is a South San Francisco, California, orthodontist who graduated from the University of Detroit School of Dentistry. William Fay, DDS, also cofounded the medical aesthetic company MIBA Medical, Inc. The firm’s team has developed effective products that enable patients to avoid scars and surgery while rejuvenating skin and enhancing breasts’ and buttocks’ natural aesthetics. Innovative products include the small-volume dermal filler Restor and the total body augmentation product Curvature.

At the foundation of Curvature is a patent-pending adaptive volume restoration (AVR) technology that works by cross linking hyaluronic acid. Curvature circumvents traditional limits on enhancement, which are related to the amount of adipose tissue that can be harvested.

The AVR product is designed for contouring areas of the body with relatively large surface areas, such as the calves and buttocks. In addition to the breasts, it can be used to contour the male chest. Unlike gluteal implants and fat transfer, Curvature enables precision augmenting in an outpatient setting. The out-patient procedure is reversible, and the recovery time upon treatment is minimal.

MIBA Medical Offers Adaptive Volume Restoration Technology

Practicing orthodontics in the San Francisco Bay area, William Fay, DDS, pairs state-of-the-art technology with traditional orthodontic practices to provide patients with the highest level of care. In addition to seeing patients out of his California office, William Fay, DDS, oversees MIBA Medical, Inc., a company he cofounded.

Focused on aesthetics, MIBA Medical offers a noninvasive tool that cosmetic professionals use to restore a look of youthfulness and beauty in their patients. The company calls the new technology Adaptive Volume Restoration. Patent-pending, the technology is used in both of MIBA’s products, Curvature® and Restor®. When applied, Adaptive Volume Restoration boosts hyaluronic acid to smooth wrinkles, reduce facial folds, enhance pectorals, and contour body surfaces.

Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found within the body. Present in connective tissues around the eyes, cartilage, and joint fluid, the acid adds elasticity and volume to regions of the body that have lost their suppleness due to age. It also brings moisture to the surface of the body for a refreshed look.

Holy Angels Elementary School’s Growth Reflects its Community

An orthodontist who has been practicing in South San Francisco and American Canyon, California, for several decades, William Fay, DDS, offers flexible payment options to his clients, and accepts most insurance programs. In addition, he provides pro bono treatments for clients who cannot afford necessary treatments. Long active in civic affairs, he was for several years a member of San Francisco’s Planning Commission. William Fay, DDS, enthusiastically supports several charitable organizations and schools, especially Holy Angels Elementary School in the South San Francisco town of Colma.

Established in 1952 by the Sisters of the Infant Jesus, Holy Angels Elementary School is a K-8 co-educational Catholic school. It began with grades 1 through 5, and for the next three years it added another grade at the beginning of each school year. The kindergarten program was added in 1982, and computers were installed the following year, as the sisters converted a portion of the library to a computer center. The rest of the library was absorbed by the computer lab in 1992, following a generous donation of computers from a Filipino group.

From inauspicious beginnings as a center of Catholic learning for the community’s youth, Holy Angels has grown in a way that reflects the community itself. Extended day care was added to the school’s offerings in 1991. The kindergarten program was expanded in 1992, and a special needs department opened in 1995. Individual and group counseling services began in 1996 when an on-site counselor joined the staff.

The expansion of the extended day care program led to the addition of a special modular unit for the program in 1998, and the following year, ground was broken for a new science building, which was put into operation in the fall. More recently, the school established the Peace Garden, where students nurture plants grown from seeds, and learn more about the environment. In September 2011, the school received the gift of a science lab.

Accredited by the Western Catholic Educational Association, Holy Angels Elementary is now staffed and administered by the Dominican Sisters of the Most Holy Rosary.
